The driver behind this is a young and increasingly urbanised population in South Africa. This is complemented by an increase in disposable income and with it access to the internet both by means of desktop but especially mobile devices.
In order to capitilise on these growing trends and the huge revenue in the sector, "Haircare network" approached Syncrony to build them a Magento ecommerce store. Having over 700 products they wanted to ensure that the site was optimised for mobile and with so many products the navigation and search needed to be fast and user friendly and products must be displayed in high resolution.
With that many products Syncrony had to ensure that the search process wasn’t tedious so we included specialised search functionality which automatically starts searching the database and showcasing products as soon as the user starts typing and presents the user with multiple options without them having to type the complete search term.
The brief also required a loyalty program and coupon system with the ability to apply multiple coupons to a single sale. Syncrony’s Graphic designers used the Magento Ultimo skin and designed the look and feel around it. Within an hour of the site being live sales started to flow in, adding to Syncrony’s portfolio of successful Magento eccomerce stores.
