Magento SEO

Magento SEO is your key to more sales

Google is the world’s most popular website and optimising the SEO on your Magento site is the key to higher rankings and increased traffic. Magento is one of the most search engine friendly eCommerce platforms straight out of the box, by optimising this functionality in conjunction with other strategies, will lead to more sales.

Improving site and product SEO takes time and hard work. There are unfortunately no easy fixes. Your online business, like your traditional business requires consistent work and maintenance to produce results in the online world where it operates.

Strategies developed by Syncrony's SEO experts will improve your site rankings.

Our Magento SEO strategy is typically divided into three phases.

Phase 1: Basic Magento SEO Configuration

Sadly, some Magento developers do their customer the disservice of not even setting up basic product or category optimisations available in the Magento back-end. Fortunately, with the Syncrony's know-how, it's a straight forward fix.

Once the built-in configuration is right, we move on to other tasks which include:

  • Securing the site
  • Adding and editing individual page and product meta data
  • Optimising product descriptions
  • Adjusting product filtering mechanisms (navigation errors)
  • Ensuring the site map showcases only the pages, products and categories the will enhance search engine visibility

Phase 2: Product Search Data Optimisation

Once your site's basic SEO is correct, there are a number of techniques that can be used to improve your product search rankings. These include:

  • Implementation of structured data (Schema markup)
  • AMP product pages (accelerated mobile pages)
  • Modify or change navigational and search elements

In addition to the above work, the best results come from long-term work that includes studying Analytics results on a monthly basis and regular review (and action) based on results and reports from Search Console.

Phase 3: Online marketing

Once the above 2 phases are attended to, the next phase comprises of many different elements.

The first step is to setup and optimise the listing of your site in Google My Business (GMB). This is simple to setup, but for the best results, your GMB listing always requires some maintenance.

Other optional elements budget and strategy dependent  and may include:

  • Google AdWords campaigns
  • Google Shopping
  • Social media posting and advertising campaigns
  • Blogging
  • Link building
